How to evaluate a publisher platform

Evaluate a monetization platform against integration fit, documented commercial terms, measurement quality and operational evidence. A revenue promise is not a substitute for a controlled evaluation.
Start with your deployment environment
List the environments you operate: a website, a web application, desktop software, native apps or a game. Then ask which installation path and renderer are actually available for each one. A list of repository names does not demonstrate a supported production release.
Record the evaluator, evaluation date and evidence URL in your own worksheet. Compare platforms against one set of criteria and leave commercial or technical unknowns visible.
Use an inspectable evaluation worksheet
The following categories separate integration work from commercial promises. Add a source or a reproducible test result for every conclusion before choosing a platform.
| Area | Evidence to collect | Open question |
|---|---|---|
| Distribution | Supported clean-install instructions and versions | Can the team reproduce installation? |
| Runtime | Renderer, no-fill and cleanup tests | Does it work in the intended environment? |
| Commercial terms | Fee basis, adjustments and payment conditions | What is payable and when is it eligible? |
| Reporting | Definitions, currency, timezone and export | Can raw counts be reconciled? |
| Privacy and quality | Data flow and enforcement documentation | Who owns consent and remediation? |
| Operations | Support path and incident handling | Who responds when delivery fails? |
Run a controlled trial with limits written down
Choose a suitable test period and comparable inventory. Record traffic mix, placement density, latency and errors along with revenue. If the trial changes several factors at once, it will be difficult to attribute the result.
A small sample can be useful for finding integration problems while remaining too weak to establish revenue superiority. Keep those two conclusions separate. A higher reported RPM does not justify ignoring retention, support effort or payment eligibility.
Make the decision reversible where practical
Define your success criteria and rollback process before launch. Keep installation and reporting artifacts so the evaluation can be repeated when versions or policies change.
For ADX, begin with availability evidence and the publisher disclosures linked below. This worksheet does not supply unverified country coverage, package support, payout timing or comparative performance. Current external platform documentation is a source to check, not a substitute for your own trial.
